If you are a resident of any of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and planning to visit the UAE, you can now apply for an online entry permit through the Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). This service has been introduced to facilitate the entry process into the UAE for GCC travellers. Let’s review how GCC Residents can apply for UAE entry permit.

GDRFA announced the activation of this service on its official social media accounts. Below are the steps to apply for this service.

How to Qualify?

According to GDRFA, applicants must fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for the service:

  1. Possess a valid GCC country residence permit for at least one year.
  2. Have no existing restrictions that prohibit entry into the UAE.
  3. The work or residency card should indicate the profession.

The following documents are required:

  1. A valid original passport.
  2. The original residence permit issued by a GCC country upon arrival.
  3. A civil or labour card.

How Much It Will Cost?

The fee for the service is Dh250 plus 5% Value Added Tax (VAT). Once your application is approved, GDRFA will issue the entry permit within 48 hours.

How To Apply?

Please follow the below steps:

  1. Visit the GDRFA’s online service ‘Entry permit for residents in GCC countries’ at https://www.gdrfad.gov.ae/en/services/ee043e4a-5c61-11ea-0320-0050569629e8 and click on ‘Start service’.
  2. You will then need to register or log in to your online account. If you already have an existing GDRFA account, click on the ‘Individuals’ tab and enter your username and password. Alternatively, you can use your UAE Pass (available for UAE non-residents) to log in.

If you do not have either of these accounts, click on ‘Register now’ and select the option to register with your email address.

  • Create a user name
  • Your first and last name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Set a password and re-enter it to confirm.Then, tap on ‘Send OTP (One-time password)’ and check the box for ‘I am not a robot’. Next, check the box to accept the terms and conditions and click on Register.

Then, you need to complete the following steps:

  1. Fill out a form by providing your personal information.
  2. Upload the required documents as mentioned earlier.
  3. Pay the fee using your debit or credit card.
  4. Finally, submit your application.
