Emirates & Etihad Teaming Up!

Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their interline agreement. It will create more itinerary options for travellers visiting the UAE. This groundbreaking agreement between the two UAE carriers aims to boost tourism. It enables visitors to experience more than one destination in a single itinerary. When Will It Benefit Travellers & Tourists?

This summer, customers of each airline will be able to purchase a single ticket to fly into either Dubai or Abu Dhabi. And a seamless return via the other airport, providing flexibility and convenient baggage check-in.

Initially, the expanded interline will focus on developing inbound interline traffic from select points in Europe and China. The open jaw arrangement will allow visitors to explore Abu Dhabi, Dubai or any other emirate, Travellers can save time by removing the need to fly home via their arrival airport. Additionally, customers travelling into the UAE can choose to book multi-city flights. Travellers can commute from one city on both carriers’ networks and return to another point served by either Emirates or Etihad.

The MoU was signed by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, and Mohammad Al Bulooki, Chief Operating Officer, Etihad Airways, at Arabian Travel Market. The signing was attended by Sir Tim Clark, President, Emirates Airline, and Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad CEO, along with other senior representatives.

Boosting UAE Tourism.

Emirates and Etihad are leveraging their strengths to expand their respective customer offerings. They support the UAE government’s objective to promote tourism and enhance the UAE’s position as a preferred global destination. The agreement is an example of the airlines’ commitment to the UAE’s vision for continued economic diversification.This collaboration is the second between the two airlines, following the signing of an MoU in 2018 to strengthen aviation security. Emirates also signed an MoU with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi last year to boost tourist numbers to the UAE capital.
